Bio

Gyasi Brandon Govan, was born in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He was born into a very talented family, a mother who has a singing career (www.TGovan.com), and a father who grew up playing the bass guitar, piano, and a broad range of other instruments. Growing up in a tough neighborhood, Gyasi found himself at an early age being attracted to bad influences, and endured family problems. His parents parted ways when he was 10 years old.

Going through school he was often the laughing stock, being made fun of and bullied upon due to his relatively small stature. As high school came around, he began to mature and look past all the laughter and jokes, pursuing a number of activities throughout his high school years. Football, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, break dancing, capoeira (a form of Brazilian martial arts), music, and drawing just to name a few. As talented as he was, sadly his grades were slipping behind. Barely graduating high school, college was out of the question, and Gyasi had no money, a lousy job, and a lost mind. But he was indeed a unique human being, and continued to grow inside as a person. He never gave up, and he continues to further his knowledge and continue to push forward with his own ideas and beliefs.

Currently, Gyasi enjoys sports, break dancing, hanging out with friends, producing music, and what every other young adult likes to do!

Throughout his life, Gyasi plans to continue to reach out to those less fortunate than him by giving away to numerous charities, traveling the globe to help others in need and to use his image as a positive influence on teenagers going through rough times.

You can see video interviews with Gyasi on http://keepthelight.net.  He was asked to speak about music and the influence of the American hip hop culture on Japan.
